I wanted to share a sweater that will be my uniform over the next month or so because it’s cozy, I love the colors and all I wear are sweatpants and t-shirts. My Festive Flannel cardigan.
I saw Knitty and Color’s Festive Flannel colorway on Instagram and asked her if she was planning on making it in worsted weight. She dyed up a batch for me and then offered more in her shop. My favorite color is green, my husband’s favorite color is red and so I love this time of year because our colors together are EVERYWHERE! Also, I love plaid and flannel shirts so Festive Flannel sounded perfect. I knit a simple raglan v-neck cardigan, no pattern, with slightly full sleeves and I did afterthought pockets because pockets make everything better and I made them blend into my cardigan by not adding a contrast ribbing. I also decided to pull out the little bit of my favorite shade of green and used the Hikoo Simplicity yarn in Real Green for the ribbing, just as another little pop of color. And to really make this wild yarn shine, I thought it looked even better in reverse stockinette side (the wrong side) and went with it. I loved it so much that I whipped up a quick Max sweater for Jellybean and I decided to go for the reverse side too.
I love how the stitches pop on what would be the wrong side of the fabric. Sometimes you have to get creative and just go with what makes you happy.
I know traditionally this is always a Christmas color palette but I’m thinking about it as plaid and I will wear it beyond the holiday season.
I’m just happy that my house is happy and healthy for the holidays and I’ll wear whatever brings me joy in these crazy pandemic times.
Joy sharer is who I feel you being. Yards of happiness, indeed. Xxxooo

Wow! This is so great š you mentioned your design in such an off the cuff way but you are on point and thoughtful in reality. It is a beautiful color and looks so good on you and your sweet dog. Merry Christmas š and thanks for all the inspiration all year long.

I so wish for change so that unnecessary suffering (and death!) was a thing of the past. Thank you so much for sharing with us and taking care of yourself to know when to focus on self-care.
