FO: Coordinating with Kiwi

Remember the oversized Oblique sweater I knit earlier this year? I loved it so much I knew I wanted to cast on another one but with less ease. I decided I wanted it to be green on green and I pulled a skein of Miss Babs Yowza in Oz I’ve had FOREVER and paired it with the Wandering Flock’s Neon Kelly and then I fell in love with this sweater all over again. Meet my second Oblique.

But here’s the thing…I still had enough scraps leftover to make a matching sweater and I decided I would make one for Kiwi! This isn’t her first sweater, I am actually writing about her first sweater for the ladies at MDK, but this is her first sweater to coordinate with one of mine (hello, holiday cards!).

Kiwi’s striped sweater

The Oblique sweater design is cool with it’s sideways stripes on the arms and I didn’t have it in me to figure it out for Kiwi, so instead I pulled out Stephen West’s Striped Pup Sweater pattern and knit the smallest size on size seven needles. When I tell you this sweater it tiny…

For a very brief moment I thought it might not fit and then I realized who I was dealing with, Kiwi. She’s 4lbs of fun after I blocked it, it was a perfect fit…even if she tried to bite me when trying it on.

My little stink bug looks absolutely adorable in her tiny sweater and now I have half of our sweaters knit for the 2023 holiday card.

My husband and Jellybean are getting the Stephen West Woolly Waffle sweater and I can’t wait to see what we come up with for our cards this year.

Getting Yards of Happiness is a ray of light in troubled, troubling times! Imagining a squirming four pound Kiwi, snapping as you try to get her into the stripes.

I ended up not doing a card! I had surgery at the end of November and just decided to knit and recuperate but we will do some pics soon!
