Aaaaand I’m back! I thought I’d come back at some point last week but I think I just needed a break. This year really started off with a bang and I feel like for the last 3 months I’ve been going non-stop so it was nice to shut off a few things. But of course I didn’t just spend my week doing nothing…I started filling out paperwork for grad school (I’m still shocked I’m starting a doctoral program and I thank all of you for the congrats. They made my week), got a lot of progress made on a big project I’m working on and I got myself back into golfing after a 2 year hiatus.
Some of you may not know this about me but in the past I played golf fairly regularly but after a really painful knee injury a couple of years ago and a summer of rehab on the knee I stopped playing. My husband golfs like I knit, a lot, and he’s missed me on the course with him so in February I ordered new irons and hybrids and this week we went out to the range. I felt it all coming back to me and he was so happy I was out there with him. I see us golfing a lot this summer with my schedule wide open.
When I left my job in August I knew I was applying to the doctoral program and wanted to take advantage of this first school year where I had more free time. I’ll have 3 months of summer vacation where I’m not required to research or do anything and I’m going to soak it all up. I’m already thinking about what I want to knit this summer in preparation of being too busy this fall. But who knows. I’m pretty good at balancing it all and hopefully I’ll still get to sneak in some quality knitting time but for now, I’m just going to enjoy where I am.
Love how positive and thoughtful you are. You are an inspiration. Keep at it!
Hooray and congratulations to you for all of it!!!
You are an inspiration! Love your colors and love your energy — thank you for sharing it all with us.
Congrats on getting back into something you enjoy doing. Knee injuries are a pain.
Congratulations Dana! Go get it all! You are clearly pursuing what you love to do. That is the way!
I love your posts. Maybe a theme sweater could go along with your dissertation?
Theme sweater – good idea! A golf sweater might have to go on the knit list, too.
Hello! I was wondering where you were…missed seeing your posts. I so love that you have a heating pad for your little darlin’ there. She is so cute!
Congrats on going for your doctorate. That’s quite a step. Also, congratulations to getting back on the green. I don’t golf, but i know people who do (hah!), and they love it. Fore!
Whatever you do, have fun with it and take extra care of yourself.
Congratulations on getting back to golfing with your DH – have fun!
This sounds good – golf and knitting and then a doctorate.
Dr. Dana-I like the sound of that! And how about some knitted club covers in rainbow colors of course?!
Sounds wonderful! I’m so happy that you’ll have some time to play and enjoy yourself. And that picture of Jellybean?? Ahhhhh!!!!!!! The CUUUUUUTE!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Congratulations on your acceptance to the doctoral program! I hope you continue to post when you have time.
