I still haven’t gotten my Sheep and Wool stuff uploaded but I hope to do that over the weekend. I’ve had a hectic week, it’s always like that when my husband travels abroad. He came home yesterday and then our central air died on us. It’s supposed to be 90 degrees on Saturday and the HVAC guy can’t come until Monday morning. Ugh. But as the temps are getting warmer and I’m coming to the end of my test knit I’m getting excited about diving into my summer knitting. And you know there’s the Tees, Tops and Tanks Knit Along going on this month so you should totally make something short sleeved to wear this summer. So I thought I’d share some patterns that have me excited. Have you see the latest preview images for Pom Pom Quarterly’s summer issue?
The issue is all about stripes (my favorite) and I’m in love with so many patterns it’s making me rethink my summer knitting plans. The first one I fell in love with is Leiden. It’s a modular knit, so you start with the middle square panel and pick up stitches along the sides. I don’t know why but I love picking up stitches. I totally want to make this tee.
I’m also equally smitten with the Anni top. Three colors, dk weight yarn and a great shape that will feel so great on a hot day in a light cotton. Plus my stash is still full of Berroco Weekend DK I was thinking of using for other projects but now may switch over to these. And because it’s Friday and despite worrying about melting in my home this weekend, I’m grateful my husband is home and safe from his travels.
The girls were super excited to see him too and Cher wouldn’t take a paw off of him all night. And as soon as he went to bed early from jet lag she was right there with him. Have a great weekend everyone!

Leiden really is my favorite. I’m already coming up with the color combo I want to knit.
Hey what’s knitting if not flexible . . . just keep the Arbus on your “Summer Knitting List”. I can’t WAIT to see your colorization of that summer Brioche sweater 😉
Arbus isn’t brioche, it’s a garter stitch pattern with lots of short row shaping (that’s what that book of her patterns is all about, various short row techniques).
