It’s Friday. YAY!
This weekend we are supposed to meet a friend’s new baby girl and I was working on a baby blanket for her. I tried three different stitch patterns and it just wasn’t right. So I ripped it out last night. It just wasn’t coming out the way I wanted it to and I decided that I’d rather give her a blanket later than an ugly one now if it wasn’t something I was happy with. Plus the less I like something the less I want to knit it. So at about 8pm last night I pulled out two small balls of Caron Simply Soft from my stash and started to knit a tiny baby cardigan.
In two short hours I separated for the sleeves and worked about an inch and a half from the underarm. Oh a tiny knit is just the cutest thing in the world. I can hopefully knit up a contrasting one for her 2 year old sister too at some point. I’ll be finished with this little project by Saturday and hopefully in the next month or so I figure out what to do about her blanket. My husband looked at me like I was crazy when I ripped out the blanket but I reassured him that sometimes it’s okay to just say I don’t like where this is going and I need to start over.
I put down a cardigan for my BFF Jess that I was flying through in order to fail at baby blanket knitting. I should’ve just finished this and then perhaps I would’ve just gone to the baby cardigan. I was inspired by a Kate Spade bag that was a soft grey with bright coral accents that she saw and raved about. I decided that I would use up some of the Madelinetosh in Neon Peach in my stash and use it as an accent piece for a sweater for Jess. I’ll give full details on the project once I finish it because it’s a bit of a surprise for her. I’m halfway through one sleeve so I could finish it over the weekend if I get a few hours of quiet to myself while my husband goes golfing.
And to end on a super cute note, here’s a picture of Cher. I love my fur baby. Have a wonderful weekend, any great knitting plans?
Are you trying to top me on “number of times frogged on one project”? 😉 Ha!ha!ha! I’m sure whatever you knit will be fabulous!
LOVE the neon peach and grey together. I can’t wait to see the finished piece!
I’m happy that I found a way to use up the rest of that yarn. It’s so vivid and it feels amazing!
