FO: Call Me London Jumper

Today, I wrote on MDK about the new trend I want to start, destination knits. LOL I don’t think it will take off but I also wanted to share the finished object pictures here on the blog too. I knit the Call Me London pattern (free on Ravelry) because I knew I was going to London in July of this year. It was a wonderful trip and this was the cutest and most fun thing to wear while seeing the sites and running all around the city.

I knit the sweater using a cotton and linen blend yarn! I knit it using Juniper Moon Farms Zoey yarn, it was a dream to work with for colorwork. It also has a wide range of colors so you can really pick a fun palette and make your destination sweater dreams come true.

I have been saying for the longest time I want to knit a Maryland sweater and this is kind of giving me the boost I need to make sure a crab sweater happens before the end of this year. The question most people have asked me when they’ve seen these photos, how many people stopped you and said something about your sweater? None! I didn’t even think about that until someone asked me about it but honestly, I didn’t care. I made it for myself and it brought me a lot of joy and made me smile a little brighter for fun pics. So perhaps you’ll make yourself a destination sweater for your next trip too!

No one? I would have gushed about it, extensively. What an amazing sweater for your trip! I have a Knit the National Parks book that has colorwork and cabled hats for each of the US national parks, if you’re ever headed to them—I love the destination theme knits idea!

How dare they ignore such a masterpiece! It is fantastic. I LOVE the destination knits idea! I recently escaped the heat/humidity of Savannah by going out to southern Colorado for a few days. Now I’m filled with images of mountains and the Spanish influences from nearby Santa Fe.

Brits are fairly restrained but I would have thought any American tourist – by comparison we are an effusive lot – would have done plenty of gushing. But I guess in London – as in New York – they have seen it all. Glad you had such a good time in your so fun sweater!
