I know a pattern is really good and I really like it when I am halfway through knitting it and already plotting out the next version. That’s how I feel about the Oblique sweater by Emily Greene.
I immediately saw this sweater on the Amirisu Instagram page and thought, well this looks like a Dana sweater. I kept going back to the image and decided I needed to just buy the issue so I could see what it was all about. The construction is clever but not too complicated. It kept me engaged and I’ve been on a serious stripes kick lately.
I decided to buy the La Bien Aimee Merino dk in buzz (the bright neon yellow) and lichen (a grey/green neutral). I have to tell you that this is the softest sweater and all I want to do is cuddle it! I love the soft grey with the bright neon pop and then the changing of the stripes for the sleeves.
I’ve also been on an oversized sweater kick lately too. Lately I don’t want short, fitted or cropped. So I knit the size 4 which has a good 12 inches of positive ease. I wanted something that was oversized that I can throw on over leggings or jeans and just feel cozy. This is that sweater. For my second version, I plan on doing a green on green stripes but in a size that comes closest to my actual bust so I can wear it with more things. I am soooo ready for fall and sweater season to finally arrive. If this humidity would just go away and let me wear all my wool sweaters I’d be very happy.
