Of course when I was in Chicago last week I started another knitting project. This is premium knitting season folks and I’ve got lots of projects in my queue! I’m fortunate that I have friends that love me and know what I love and for my birthday a girlfriend of mine gave me a gift card to a yarn store and I bought these SweetGeorgia yarns Pack of Five mini skeins to try something new. I don’t do a lot of colorwork but I love stripes and color and the SweetGeorgia yarn is just so yummy. So I figured why not!
Then my BFF Jess gave me a Knitter’s Notebook to help inspire me to make some of my own creations. I’ve been modifying more and more things but haven’t really taken the big leap. Add to the mix this picture of an adorable dog in a cardigan and I knew what my next project was going to be {I do not remember where I found this pic so if you know please let me know!}. UPDATE: I found the dog and this pic on Instagram in a random browsing!
I picked up some of the new Manos del Uruguay Gloria superwash worsted weight from my local yarn store because I love Manos del Uruguay Maxima and knew a superwash would be amazing (it is so yummy) and I started on a striped cardigan for myself.
This is how far I’ve gotten since last Friday. I finished the gradient stripes yesterday and need to knit a little bit more of the cream yarn for the body before I do a 2×2 ribbing in the camel yarn. The button band will also be in the camel yarn and right now I think I’m going to do a shawl collar. I am only on my second ball of the cream yarn and I had enough of the color yarn to do 4 stripes of each color but settled on 3 with a little cream at the bottom. I still have the second pack of mini skeins so I’ll use that to match the stripes on the arms too. And it doesn’t hurt that I’m knitting this up on size 9 needles so it’s moving along at a nice pace. I’m hoping in between everything I have to do for this holiday weekend I can finish it. Fingers crossed.

Yes, it is the knitting season. There is something about the cool air that makes me feel creative 🙂
Love the color of the gradient stripes and the photo of the dog, so cute!!! This knitting season is starting with hats and cardigan projects for me!
That cardy looks like it’s going to be seriously cute! I love the idea of stripes and colour gradient! Can’t wait to see it.
Just finished at set of fingerless mitts for my son and I have two pullovers to get the sleeves onto. Just WIPping along, as you do…
I finished it! Post should be live in 30 minutes 😊
