I’ve made some good progress on Estelle but I realized I would have to essentially finish the body and sleeves, block it and THEN I pick up stitches and add the collar. I am not a fan of knits that require you to block it and then wait to start phase 2! I finished the sleeves on Sunday, blocked it and set it up to dry and as of this morning it appears to be dry! It’s not a heavy wool so at least it dried quickly. Hopefully this evening I can pick up the stitches for the collar and call this project complete! The yarn is just so beautiful, pictures don’t do it justice. I think my aunt will be so excited when I give it to her, I can’t wait to see her wearing it.
Since I finished off all that I could do for the time with Estelle, I decided to swatch and start on my next project…the Rainbow Madigan! This is my first time working with SweetGeorgia yarn and the superwash worsted is soft but still has nice structure to it. I think this is going to be such a fun layering piece for fall into winter! I cannot knit this thing fast enough. Plus I always get super excited when I get to change colors in a project. It’s probably why most of my knits are colorblocked.
After finally feeling like we were over the sickness that has plagued our house for the last two weeks, we used this weekend to run errands and to work on a few projects around the house. I’m fortunate that I have a home office/workshop space where I store all my yarn (it’s the lovely yarn wall backdrop for most of my pictures on Ravelry). The wall opposite of the yarn wall was blank and I wanted to do something fun. I’m a collector of Swatch Watches and when I was younger I was all about the Pop Swatch. I don’t wear Pop Swatches anymore (I do wear my other Swatches on a daily basis) but I still love them, cherish them and remember when and why I got each one – so I decided to display them.
I also have a giant Swatch Watch wall clock that hasn’t been on the wall for a while and I thought it would be a lovely addition to my wall of watches. Now I feel like my little office/workshop is complete and it makes me so happy.
So did you have a good weekend? Finish any projects? Do anything special?
