Crochet Kamala

I wanted to share this in case you hadn’t heard or seen the crocheted Kamala Harris mural that’s in DC. It is an art installation by Love Across the USA, with each piece crocheted by a different woman, in celebration of Women’s History month.

I was so stunned when I saw it last week, that I met up with my friend at lunch to walk over and take pics in front of it. I figured it was my spring break, I had the time, how could I not see this in person if it’s in my area?

I put on my Howard Girls Are Lit sweatshirt and my rainbow sequin Chuck Taylors in honor of my fellow alum and favorite Vice President. It’s here for a bit so if you’re in the area you have to check it out. For more details, you can go to their website.

ps: the second link you provided goes to your flickr feed, not to the website?

  3. I’m not crying, you are crying!! Why am I, a 62yo woman crying when I see Kamala Harris stating, “I’m Speaking “, in bold beautiful colors?? Finally, we have a seat at the table, pretty darn near the head of the table!!

    And, I love the mural♥️💙😍

  4. This art piece is so amazing! Thank you for sharing it. I wish I could see it in person. What a brilliant concept and I’m so in awe of the wonderful women who made it a reality! It is wonderful to have this to lift our spirits as we continue to press on waiting for vaccines to roll out and this horrible coronavirus time to be over. Best, Janie

  9. So glad, so excited for you to have been there in person, Dana! I realized a few days ago that this year has kind of been the last straw… There have been so many hopes dashed over the years in the political realm, so much pain and anger and disappointment, that it’s hard to take in what has actually happened with the election of Kamala Harris. So thankful to have been able to see this day, while knowing that the struggle goes on and we’re not done with the heavy lifting yet.

  10. Wow! The art and all it represents – breathtaking. Thanks so much for sharing!

I am in major despair over my ‘do’, ready for a change 😁 AND I read Michelle Obama is ‘hooked on knitting’ now … what a wonderful world we live in! 😁🙏🏽
