I have two projects I wanted to work on during the #GreatGreenKAL, the Wavelength sweater and the Low-key vest. I knew Wavelength probably won’t get finished during the KAL because I’m working on two other projects that aren’t green, but I knew I wanted a vest for this time of year.
I am so glad I started with this project because now I can wear it a lot over the next few weeks. Here’s what I like about this pattern.
- It is knit using worsted weight and on size 9 needles, so it’s a pretty quick knit.
- The high-low hem is cute.
- The construction is simple but still keeps you engaged.
- It’s a perfect layer and I think it would be super cute over a dress too.
I also really love the Ramen Needles yarn, this was my first time trying this yarn brand out and I love this color. It’s a pale grey with varying shades of green and yellow speckles all over. I never love knitting with just solid colors, I get bored, so I loved the interest that the speckles give to this vest. Although now I totally want to make another one but probably in a bright pink.
I also really like that I can throw this on over a short sleeved t-shirt and it’s just the right amount of warmth I need while I’m in my house and on my Zoom calls. I am pretty polished from the waist up and the bottom half is usually in sweatpants or leggings. I don’t know how I’ll ever put on a pair of jeans ever again. I also finished my Winston pullover and have yet to take a picture wearing it, but you can see me wearing in it in the video from my latest visit on the Shi Show. I’ve embedded the video from the Lion Brand Facebook page below if you’re interested in seeing me and Jellybean talk about sweater knitting and get a look at my Winston. Also, if you’re joining in on the Great Green KAL (whether you knit or crochet, it’s just about green yarn) make sure to check out the Ravlery group or Instagram to get details on our Saturday afternoon Zoom sessions. Hopefully you can join us!
