FO: Rainbow Madigan

Rainbow Madigan
It took me exactly two weeks to finish my Rainbow Madigan! I don’t know if a sweater has ever made me so happy or made me want fall to arrive so soon. Of course since the DC area loves to hold on to a hot and humid summer, I probably won’t get a chance to wear this for another month.

I followed the pattern to a tee and didn’t do a single modification. Once you block it, you gain about an inch in length or so from the welt pattern loosening up a bit. I used the SweetGeorgia Superwash Worsted Weight in the following colors:

  • Blood Orange
  • Dutch
  • Lemon Curd
  • English Ivy
  • Nightshade
  • Glacier
  • Lavender

I am super pleased with the end results of this sweater. The SweetGeorgia worked up very well, holds great stitch definition and is still soft. This will not be an itchy sweater at all. This might be my new favorite yarn for superwash wool when I want to splurge a little bit. This pattern is also another one that I picked up via the Quince and Co. website. I love their patterns, next I have to try their yarn. It’s a little on the pricey side so I might have to buy something to just make a hat and see how I feel about their fiber.
When you attempt to photograph a sweater you knit but your dog won't let you be great 😐😂 #itshersweaternow #cherstagrams #dwjknits #knitting #knitstagram
I’ve also realized Cher believes anything I knit is automatically her blanket or meant for her to lounge on. Of course as soon as I put this on the floor she walked right on top of it and laid herself down. She also decided to sniff out my camera as well. At least she’s cute and my favorite girl.

Next up I just have one sleeve left on another newborn cardigan and then on to my next project! I’m not sure if it will be something for me or for my cousin in Chicago. I have a strong feeling it might be something for me, gotta build up my fall wardrobe! So what are you working on right now? Do share!

  1. Well done D!!! You look great!!! and the sweater is a gem! 😉

  2. Was that red called ‘Blood Orange’? What was the name of the orange you used.
Very nicely done. I bet you’ll instantly cheer up everyone who sees you wear it!

Also getting ready to start another test pullover for a lovely designer on Rav. Yarn-winding by hand. I need to somehow trick my kids into helping me…

    1. HAHAHAHA at tricking your kids into helping you! And good catch on me missing a color, the orange is called Dutch! The Blood Orange is the red at the top.

  3. You know I love this sweater already but I have to say it here again! It’s really, really, amazing and you look awesome in it!

  4. I think you should include this in your photo montage. The sweater comes alive on you. Beautiful

    1. I love rainbows so much and this one is definitely a favorite. It makes me so happy whenever i wear it (and it used to be in blog header – I swap them out every couple of months).

  5. I love that my fur kiddos aren’t the only ones that feel everything I knit is for their pleasure. Too cute.
